It was great until Lucas and Peyton left the show. It seems that the remainder of the show was the “Jamie Scott Snow”. He ruins the entire series. If I wanted to watch a kiddie show, I’d watch cartoons and reruns of Captain Kangaroo. Also, it’s not very realistic that the entire crew played teenagers beginning at the age of 15 years old, but with no parental supervision at all. Lucas had his mother, but still had no kind of adult supervision and did whatever he wanted. It also seemed to be acceptable by everyone for the 15 year olds to do a lot of “bed hopping”. All of that was more or less ok since the story was about the high school kids. It became almost unwatchable when Jamie Scott entered the picture. The child had no place in the story line and no child makes such mature, adult statements. I fast forwarded when Jamie was on. The loud, background songs were also distracting, annoying and did not fit. I turned the sound off during the long sequences of nonverbal performances when all that was heard was the hideous songs. This show would have been a lot better without Jamie Scott and the horrific, loud, background songs. I always fast forwarded through the beginning song. It hurt my ears to listen to it. Could not stand that guys voice, much less the song.

I loved the series, but it would have been much, much better without Patricia Wettig. Her dialogue was boring. Nobody talks that slowly and pronounces every syllable in every word spoken…..and speaks it so slowly. Even her laughs sounded fake and contrived. She made me think she was in speech therapy after a stroke. Does Calista Flockhart have a speech problem too? She stuttered every time she spoke. She always started her sentences with “ you, you, you……, or no, no, no, or that, that and other statements similar to that. I noticed she stuttered a lot in Ally McBeal too. Is she too in need of speech therapy? Without the outstanding acting ability of the others in the cast, this entire series would have been a complete flop. Wettig is no actress she was annoying and boring. Sally Field and Rob Lowe were outstanding as usual. So glad they held the show together.
