Tim Miller's Terminator: Dark Fate tries to introduce something new to this tired old franchise but fails miserably. You would think bringing back the legendary Linda Hamilton would be just the "jolt" that the Terminator series would need but for me it was a disappointment.
There were tremendous plot holes throughout this film and even Arnold appearing, half-way through, couldn't save it. I read behind the scenes that they had internal creative bickering between Miller and Cameron towards the finish product and I'm curious to see who actually won since the movie is not that good.
Nothing new is brought to the table except an alternate time line and even that, is just rehashed Terminator story lines from previous installments. Jamie Lee Curtis's return to the Halloween franchise was way more successful and believeable opposed to Linda Hamilton's crusty old lady spinster verison of Sarah Connor in Dark Fate. The only shinning light was Arnold Schwarzenegger performance as the T-800. The main female leads of Grace and Dani played by Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes were forgettable and Gabriel Luna's Rev-9 was pretty much a carbon copy of T-1000 but with one major difference, Robert Patrick was a lot more compelling.
I'm a big fan of the Terminator franchise but for me, T2 is where this should've ended.
