really liked the book, and I was hoping the movie adaptation would be just as brilliant or even better. My only complaint is that it's not really that funny. Sure, I did laugh in some scenes and moments, but on the whole it felt more like a sad movie, which I didn't vibe with at first. I love feeling emotional in movies; that's how I know they're good cuz they are making me invested and actually FEEL something. But I wanna be able to not only cry and feel sad when the characters do, but I also wanna laugh and be happy when they do too. And in my (humble) opinion, there were just not enough scenes to make me feel happy and balance out the sad. I definitely went to bed thinking about life after watching this, which don't get me wrong, is a good thing, but I also wanna go to bed happy as well. In the end though, the sad emotional moments definitely overpower my complaints of it not being funny enough. I just think there was at least SOME comedic potential as it felt more like a reality kinda movie. Also I love all the characters dearly, ESPECIALLY Owen Wilson. I love Owen Wilson. I don't like Miranda though. Girl, I get you like trying new things but that makeup took like 5 years off your face age. Eughhh! So yeah, good movie, I do recommend if you want an overwhelmingly emotional film.
