I know nothing about the book at all and if it resembles what the book is about but, this movie was so uncomfortable about a woman with childhood trauma. Who then brings it into her relationship/marriage and narcissistically creates events that were a lot less traumatic then she portrays them to have been. One scene was very eerie in which after the event took place she considers her husband to have “raped” her but it could’ve been easily portrayed as nothing of such manner. I must be blind because although I assume she thought she broke a generational curse I just didn’t view what she did. I hated this movie and it created a villain in a man who did not deserve to be created as such a person. She did him the favor as it was all a bit delusional for me.
