Been fan of Star Trek for almost 50 years. Each show has a special place in my Trekkie heart. I love old and new Trek with the exception of Picard. Let me say that Discovery and Lower Decks were amazing this year and it was such a blessing to have new Trek help get us through Covid. Yet with Picard the storyline made no sense. They killed off legacy characters for no reason and the scene with Echeb getting his eye yanked out is one of the worst scenes in all of the 50 some odd years of Trek. It's as if whoever wrote the show only watched Nemesis and Trek 2009 and took the worst parts of both.
And Seven of Nine, who was one of my all time favorite characters, forgot all she learned with Voyager and decides to become a ranger assassin. . Yuck.
There was an episode of TNG that became a classic, Measure Of A Man. I remember the scene between Picard and Guinean in Ten Forward about creating androids for slave labor and yet that's exactly what Picard supported in this new show.
As the Admiral said in Picard, "Sheer F**king Hubris."
