A fun read about a woman named Lucy whose only dream is to adopt, Christopher, who she temporarily fostered after both his parents passed away. Lucy has no home, no car, and very little money and for those reasons, is being turned down for adopting him. Jack Masterson is the children’s book author of the wildly popular Clock Island book series who has gone into hiding and not published a Clock Island book in years. Quite suddenly, he comes out of hiding and announces he has written another Clock Island book and is giving people the opportunity to win the ONLY copy of this new book. But, they have to solve a riddle first to win the opportunity to go to Clock Island (off the coast of Maine) and participate in a puzzle solving contest to win this coveted single copy of the book. Lucy sees enters the contest as she sees it as the only opportunity to get enough money to straighten out her life and be able to adopt Christopher. This story is absorbing, fun, and whimsical. A light read that I very much enjoyed!
