Absolutely love this series, from the catchy theme music to the great writing. Sometimes it makes me cringe, or laugh, or yell at the characters but everyone plays a great part of this crazy family. I can imagine Dorothy Atkinson straining to keep a straight face sometimes as the pretentious Pauline. I adore mum and just about cheered when she finally stood up to everyone and disappeared into the bushes with Michael. It’s good watching it again even if you know what’s coming… an opportunity to really hear the clever dialogue.
