I feel like there were more graphics than dialogue. I knew what was happening - war- except I just didn’t know why. I understand they’re photo journalist but there was not enough discussion about what was happening. They didn’t really have an opinion to give the audience an idea of whether or not the war was happening for a good/bad reason. They have the backstory and saw it unfold, but we just got here in the middle lol. My best guess on why the war started: there isn’t a singular why. I think everyone had their own icks, if someone was from the west coast, it could rub someone the wrong way and they’ll kill you because that’s just the state of America. For the young journalist, no offense to the actress but she was the villain/the anti the whole time. She captures young America really well in the sense of kids - maybe some millennials , gen z’rs and down - prioritize getting that one picture or video and not honoring the sacredness of human life. As long as you get the photo, and get the views, I guess. S/O to K. Dunst, it was also dope seeing Jessie Plemons on there. He’s a great actor. His scene is probably one of the most memorable from the film.
