I rarely even bother to check reviews of TV series that I watch but I felt compelled to see if the majority of people agreed with me that this was just a painful exercise to view. It must’ve been extremely hard for the good cast in the show to figure out how to approach the insanely (and inanely) twisted characters they had to portray. Why couldn’t they have had at least one or two characters who didn’t cross has completely and unnaturally bizarre? I’m always willing to accept a decent amount of suspension of disbelief in British crime dramas, but that is usually dependent on a certain level of actual belief. The cops arrest the father and, as far as I was able to tell, never conducted a search of the home. I promise you, you would rather spend a year in a Turkish prison, rather than four hours watching this mess.
