*SPOILER ALERT*
Tasteless movie with a god-awful ending. The movie might have earned a 2-star rating from me if the ending wasn't so bad due to its interesting premise of first-world foreigners being trapped by a cannibal tribe and its effects.
HOWEVER:
The plot of the movie is a mess, and it seems very confused as to whatever its own message is. Picture this: you sit through an hour of unpleasant torture done by heartless savages wondering if there will be any kind of retribution for all of the suffering that was done. Just when this has an opportunity to happen, all of that time was wasted when you find out the main character is a non-sensical, heartless b-word who lies when she gets back home and says that the people who tortured her friends to death were kind to them and that the loggers (the people who saved her life) were scum. She may as well have been laughing when her friends were getting mutilated; it would have made the story more believable! Was the message of the movie that the amazon tribes need to get mowed down with machine guns by the loggers to make way for progress? I don't know, but that's what I got out of it. If the message was to "save the rainforest" they did a terrible job. Awful, awful movie.
