On first watch, the initial two episodes were a little confusing, as the characters are introduced in different time periods without clearly indicating what they’re about. But after sorting it all out with a second watch it looks like it will be a brilliant study of how one person’s choices can reverberate through the lives of so many others. And BTW Cate Blanchett is brilliant and Kevin Kline is great. Way better than average viewing.
