I really don't like the new HUT gameplay. It just feels like there is no incentive to play, like playing for hours to get a 74 overall player is just not that interesting. Wildcard compared to rush is a bust. Wildcard rewards are win or lose only, ea removed the incentives to deke, block shots etc that could gain you rewards. Plus as of now, rewards kind of suck. Game play in wildcard is so slow it is almost unbearable to play. Squad battles are now 54 days long to get rewards, plus you don't even get decent packs or chances to pull high overall players. It was nice that every week you could claim your rewards and hoping to get a really good player to build your team. Now that is gone so no more week by week excitement, basically play for 54 days to get an 87 ovr Eichel that in 2 months time will pretty much be not that interesting. Jerseys: cannot get players for trading in jerseys, goalie masks or celebrations anymore so they just seem pointless now, at least in nhl 24 you could get decent players once in a while so you could use in team building or something. You really got to pay in order to get good rewards in my opinion because you have to turn in 32 xp players to be able to get mcdavid x factor player for example. You have to trade in 38 75 ovr players to get 1 xp player. ea make it a huge deal to get 75 ovr players right now so you will need 1216- 75 ovr players for mcdavid unless you pay. Plus then you will still need to trade in players to get x tokens to level up your card. It is just overwhelmingly unattainable that it makes it just not worth it to even try unless you spend a shit ton of cash. Hopefully ea can bring more excitement to HUT as I don't think I will play a huge deal of nhl 25 this year. I would rather just get my money back to be honest. If your thinking of buying this game i would wait until price drops significantly. Not worth it so far. Disappointed.
