The 1 star reviews are all Avatar Cartoon Purists... If you're not a die hard fan of Avatar, you will enjoy and may even love this Netflix show... If you are an Avatar fan then you're hatred is definitely misguided... The worst part of this show is the poor acting from the child actors... Other than that, the show is great... The graphics are awesome, the costumes are great, the writing is great, and the story is great Watching the cartoon, it's definitely not this holy grail show... The cartoon is rushed at soooo many moments and SLOWWWWWW at so many other moments. The netflix show has a more believable structure to it... It starts with the Air Village 100 years ago and has a good intro to Aang and his masters, and then the Genocide and then 100 years later to show us Katara and Sokka in their village and then them going on a fisherman boat, to see Aang.. In the cartoon, the show starts out on the fisherman boat, right to Aang and within minutes (wastful minutes catching Penguins...) Aang is captured and They start their journey. To all the Purists... how isn't this rushed... In the cartoon when we get to Gyatso body, there's no emotion at all, the viewer has no reason to think anything! In the Netflix show, We have atleast 15 minutes with Gyatso funny moments sweet moments serious moments, and finally him fighting the fire lord to protect children, and then seeing his corpse in the same way as he was left from the fight is way more powerful than the cartoon The Netflix show is a great adaptation of a very childish comedic show... If the show was recreated Scene for Scene, only Avatar Purists would like it... while the rest of casual Avatar viewers would definitely downvote that show.. I do think Avatar Purists are all over the place on what they hat, I'm hearing alot of hate about No Pirates and how the Pirates are key to the show... THE PIRATES ARE NOT KEY TO ANYTHING!!!! The show gets a 5 star for Bad child acting, but Kim Convience Iroh is actually great, Lord Ozai even is great, and Zuko The difference they did to Zhao is for the better than. Again they're different, the cartoon can be this silly zany adventure, but the live action has to be gritty and real, this is war and genocide, the content was never really for kids when you think about it, so the live action has to adapt Solid 4/5 tho
