Bought dragons dogma four times. Don't regret doing it at all. One of my favorite RPGs Of all time, it has it's flaws, but does so much right.
Pros: - an open world filled with monsters and treasure.
-a varied class system with some of the best spell casting in any action RPG.
- large monster battles are a highlight blending a shadow of the Colossus style "climb on your enemy" mechanics, and dark souls lite combat.
-The game is quite lengthy, replayability is pretty good.
-the pawn system is a really great idea, but comes with a con....
Cons:- Story is very much a "read between the lines" deal. There's a basic narrative, and it gives the adventure purpose, until a bonkers twist grabs you by the brain and slaps the sense out of it.
-textures can be a bit muddy at times and occasional pop ins can break any immersion and frame rate stutters occur when the action gets crazy (two wizards cast big spells tend to cause it)
-The character creation system although really great has a few mechanics that aren't exactly explained initially. If you make a big and tall character, you'll weigh more, but can reach higher cliffs, if you're short and thin, you can be blown around easier and can fit in small spaces. There's good and bad for each.
In the end the cons really aren't gamebreaking and it's a game that I can't get enough of.
Any console you have, you should give this game a buy.
