The relationships are forced due to very lazy character development. It’s also difficult to keep with each characters story arc due to them having several different nicknames. Some characters carry 3-4 misnomers. The way the story connects to the rest of the shadowhunter also seems very awkward. We are supposed to be post Clockwork & pre City of Angels. However time period placements like clothing descriptions don’t quite fit.
