Perfect? Absolutely not. Preachy? Very. Worth the watch? Most definitely.
This movie is not really for middle-aged males. And that's kind of the point: Not everything is supposed to be. But, that being said, I think even middle-aged males will find it amusing and will laugh at points. I very much enjoyed it and I "closed my eyes and shook my head" laughed hard a few times because I can't even believe they made that joke.
You can definitely take your kids to see it unless you're...I guess very overprotective? There is no nudity at all but some of the innuendos and language is PG-13 but also going to be over the head of a young child but funny for a 10+.
Also, it is a visual spectacle. The set design and costumes are going to win Oscars.
Finally, Margot is just so adorable but Ryan has nailed Ken so well it may define his career. I know he will get nominated but am fairly certain he will win an Oscar.
So my suggestion is that you go watch this delightful romp with the knowledge that it isn't perfect but will be an iconic movie similar to Clueless or Legally Blonde.
