Alice Wu is an outstanding storyteller and visionary. Stunning cinematography, capturing Wes Anderson like moods, but with an emotional realism. Leah Lewis is a powerhouse actress - so deeply authentic and moving, expressing a very poignant teenage angst on the edges one rarely, if ever, has seen in a film about high-school love. The issues brought brilliantly, yet deftly to the fore of anti-Asian racism, bullying, and LGBTQ speak powerfully to the conscious of the viewer in honest ways. I haven't loved a film as much as this in ages. Amazing piece!
