I read this book 8 years ago after discovering it on accident, and this is a series with real staying power. I still think about it all the time. It is the litmus by which I judge all other books and I have yet to find a story that is as compelling as this. The writing is beautiful and magical, as are the characters. I would make this my whole personality if I could. Don’t give up on this book - the ending has one of the most heart-wrenching moments I’ve experienced in literature.
