D2 is brilliant ... It has scored with it's subtlety and brilliance of the script and direction. Watch it a second time, calmly this time, once you learn the story after watching it eagerly the first time. Now you can observe the play of each character's mind, his/her emotions, and that is absolutely spot on!! There's no fast paced action,...but the director unravels the exact thoughts of each character through facial expressions, (bringing them in close ups)...the mind work of the actors (and that of the audience) moves so fast! We have to understand the limitations in the story, when it's about a reinvestigation of a crime after 6 years. This is a truly psychology based movie, based on the main characters. Apart from the actual people involved, the others do not have much emotional investment. These people- George kutty, Rani, Geetha, Prabhakar & IG Thomas are alive in their roles...Unbeatable acting from each one of them! Drishyam 1 & 2 are incomparable. They are two different stories...based on a single crime. It's as constricting as it's liberating...and as fantastic as it is totally believable!!
