The conscientious Manager - this book is about uplifting the conscience of a manager/ individual through interactive storytelling. Every chapter has interesting tale which can be easily related to our own experience. There were several times where I could relate to initial days of my career.
This book is a good read for all the managers and aspiring managers as we know the front line managers are the key to attracting and retaining talented employees. But what I found is this book does not concentrate much on pushing leadership quality at every level , where a trainee can also challenge an order by manager if there is a need. As David Marquet ( experienced Navy officer) said
"Leadership should mean giving control rather than taking control and creating leaders rather than forging followers."
Hope to see more books from Phani covering these topics.
Allover it's a must read for everyone specially during the time when "The great Resignation, 2021" is going on. It's high time that everyone start implementing these ethics in their workplace to have a high performing, healthier, happier work environment.
