Women Talking represented a thoughtful portrayal of traumatized women seeking the means to revive their innate power in order to seek safety for themselves and their children, in order to seek out a loving and safe space to live in peace & to practice their religion as they knew it. To stay in their Mennonite colony would have resulted in certain trauma & death for some.

I was anxious to learn more about Ailes methods & this iteration of him certainly gives the public the slant I had heard about. That is, that Roger just made things up out of whole cloth to suit his purposes. Also, the depiction presented of him as a man compartmentalised, to explain his devotion to his wife & child along side his sexual dalliances, was blatantly clear. And, along those lines, I guess it’s just compartmentalised, religious politics, but the show also depicts the far right, religious followers of Roger Ailes empire as having no problem with his double life about which most people were very aware. So, you can have affairs on the side as long as you support the “right” party? Stimulating docudrama for sure. Would not miss an episode. And kudos to make-up for the Roger Ailes look!!!

Saw A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood Thanksgiving Day while the turkey roasted. Tom Hanks knocked it out of the park in his performance of of Fred Rogers. But he also took on a topic difficult to discuss in families, so reminiscent of Rogers, to help people face these challenges in our lives. Acceptance, grace, love, healing, prayer are all themes we can take home as we enjoy Hanks & Matthew Rhys in this wonderful film.
