Tim i have some observations relating to Charlie Montoya
#1 He seemed to live on a hope and a prayer. In post game interviews he always was saying if the pitchers pitch and the players hit we will win and be on track. No solutions how to get them there.
#2 He always seemed pre-occupied with who would be available tomorrow as per pitchers and who needs a rest turn in the field. I want a manager who wants to win today and tomorrow we will worry about when it arrives. As for resting players these are all young guys and unless someone is injured they will have to present their best impersonation of Cal Ripken.
#3 I have witnessed Montoya sacrificing a game in early innings to save players for tomorrow. Take off the gloves and make these guys work for the millions they make.
As a sports junkie and former player of multiple sports i wanted to play every minute i could and not sit on the bench because a coach was pre-occupied with who he should sit and rest. "Win Today"
