I usually don't do this but there are WAY too many good reviews on google for this movie that I had to do something.
There are two types of cliche teen movies: the ones that are light-hearted, funny, and cute, and still put a smile on your face despite the predictability, then there are the ones that make you cringe the entire time, groan at everything, and check how much time is left every five minutes. Kissing Booth 2 is the latter. This is the worst movie I have seen this year, if not ever. Here is a sample of the problems:
-predictability and poor, lazy writing
-bad acting
-Elle is literally so cringey it's unrealistic. the second-hand embarrassment almost made me cry.
-WAY too much going on with the plot. To name a few, there is drama between: Elle and Noah, Elle and Marco, Elle and Lee, Lee and Rachel, Elle and Rachel, Marco and Noah, Noah and Chloe, etc, etc... it was too much.
-token gay characters. I don't even remember their names, but in an effort to look diverse and progressive, this sequel added a romance between two boys for no reason which added nothing to the plot. I saw the romance for what it really was: a weak effort to make this movie fit into the 21st century.
-Elle's hypocrisy. she's nervous that Noah may be cheating on her with Chloe (who is one of the only characters I liked, along with Rachel) while she ACTUALLY cheats on Noah with the new school stud. Made everything hard to believe and difficult to watch.
-Elle got into Harvard and Berkeley, and I'm the queen of England.
-How were there even over 2 HOURS of this thing??
In summary: terrible plot, characters, writing, and acting; cringey, way too long. Don't listen to the kids reviewing this movie that think it's the peak of coming of age movies. Do something else with your valuable time. The only reason anyone should watch this movie is to make fun of it.
