If you're not fascinated with people and their individuality, do not watch the leftovers. This show is not for you. The mystery behind the departure is secondary. The leftovers are front and centre. We watch them stumble and fall, sometimes spectacularly, over and over again, trying to cope with such an incomprehensible event. There is no grand explanation awaiting you, but people and their problems. Whole episodes are meant to give you glimpses into the machinery behind some characters and there are some episodes dedicated to portraying the insanity and desperation of a man losing his mind hilariously well. Following these characters on their journey throughout the 3 seasons has been extremely rewarding and I don't think I'll find another show that will move me like this show has done.
