This review is for the average movie viewer, not the incredibly introspective analytical cinematic geniuses of rotten tomatoes….
Although initially interested in a storyline with great potential and bolstered by a cast of some of my favorites (Stone, Defoe, etc), I quickly realized this movie was simply a 2 hour sex tape between an autistic-appearing woman with the mind of a child and a grown man quick to take advantage of a living sex doll. Graphic shots up close and personal of this twisted romance intend to grip the audience in a “so uncomfortable you can’t look away” style, however it soon becomes to much to bear.
There were two older ladies behind me in the theater that would not be quiet for the whole film, constantly questioning whether they should leave, which was very annoying as you might imagine. Finally they got up and left (to the relief of the entire theater), however a few minutes after they left I realized that I have to focus my whole attention on this disaster of a film. After watching a few more minutes of this horrifying nightmare bordering on the edge of statutory rape and something you might come across illegally on the dark web, I concluded that the annoying ladies distracting me was the only reason I didn’t leave the theater sooner…
Please do yourself a favor and do literally anything else for 2 hours of your life, your time is too valuable to waste on this filth. The fact that this movie is getting 5 star reviews and low 90s on rotten tomatoes is truly perplexing.
