Life is more than living from one tragedy to the next. While I think the overall acting is fine and some of it good, they focus too much on tragedy. If a Christian theme is the predominant idea here, then where is the laughter and joy that we stand upon while in the face of tragedy? I love that each episode starts with a verse from the Bible. I love that they show the example of praying. I love that they show grace and compassion towards each other. What I don't like is that for someone who's not a Christian but looking to see an example of a real Christian life being portrayed on tv, this is not a good example for them. Where's the anger? Where's the righteous anger? Where's the laughter and the joy even in the middle of tragedy? The feelings are all more monotone than human and relatable. I hate to say that but that is definitely how I see it. I think it's still worth watching and a far cry above the mayhem, murder and sexualized TV that's already out there but to me it just falls flat and really makes Christians seem like they can't eventually embrace joy and hope in between the tumultuous times of life.
