This review is only based on the free chapter.
I don’t quite agree with how the author describes people with procrastination, “want to fulfill their obligation but just can’t figure out HOW”.
In my opinion, people procrastinate doing things as they don’t find the real meaning of it. Yet they feel bad keeping delaying mostly due to external pressure or threat. The more external force they experience, the less internal motivation is likely to grow.
Therefore, the major reason of procrastination is due to people stuck in a meaningless life and fail to consciously apply meaning to anything. Whereas in such age of information, I do agree that the overwhelming flood of information leads to decision paralysis and many other problems. I like his way to illustrate and deliver ideas with simple hand drawings.
This free chapter ends at brief explanations of “motivation, discipline, outcomes and objectivity”. And I feel that the following chapters are likely to introduce useful tool kit to tackle this “HOW to get started” issue.
