Watching Movie felt like being trapped in a time loop where nothing exciting ever happens. The story drags along at a snail’s pace, filled with overly dramatic dialogues, endless staring contests between characters, and songs that pop up just when you think the plot might move forward . The lead actor tries really hard to emote, but most of the time it’s just exaggerated expressions and slow-motion walking. The heroine mostly exists to cry, sing, or faint – sometimes all three in the same scene. The villain? More laughable than threatening, with his cartoonish antics and painfully predictable evil plans. The music might have been a hit in its time, but now it just feels like elevator music on loop. Even the so-called “climax” barely registers – it’s more like a mildly annoying inconvenience than a peak in the plot. Overall, Movie is a tedious reminder that not all retro films age like fine wine. Some just gather dust – and deservedly so.
