Long, but short on plot.
We were not quite midway through the movie, before I began wishing it were over.
The contrived plot twists had all of the suspense of a child's insistence that you keep your eyes closed while they perform a "magic trick".
The acting was woody throughout. Each character is a two-dimensional victim of his or her circumstance. The characters lacked agency, given over to a single minded obsession as a substitute for personality. I felt as though each murder was somehow an act of mercy, freeing the character from their dismal role in the movie.
Upon reflection, my head begins to hurt when I contemplate the convoluted plot, and contrived twists. I've tried several times find a different perspective on the movie, but I can scarcely bear to reflect on the film without an overwhelming feeling that I should be doing something more productive and worthwhile.
