You'd have to be a pretty boring person to not like this movie. It's also laughable that professional critics rate this movie according to how well it sticks to the plot of the book, considering the original book is very short and simple. How suitable it is for young children isn't relevant to the quality of the movie. It's wildly entertaining. Just because you feel bad about showing this movie to your kids because the jokes are more crude than you expected doesn't mean the movie is bad, just not suitable for young kids. The best solution to that problem is to not show it to them if you don't think it's appropriate.
