Calvo provided a unique and deeply insightful analysis of early America. His evaluations in Chapter 6 on Henry Carey were a particular highlight that reflect the overall brilliance of this work. This significant contribution to our historical understanding will leave a lasting impression on the historiography to come. I can say with a fair degree of certainty that I have never read a more detailed historical analysis on capitalism in early America nor one that provides such abundant historical evidence. I highly recommend this book for all curious minds.
