It’s an overlooked masterpiece, at lest by my generation of early Russian millennials. It took me till my late 30s to get into this series, and finally I’m enjoying it tremendously! You’ve got to pay attention though. The movie’s genius is in the details, which come in many forms: brilliant acting performances, rare WW2 footage, digging deep into human psyche etc. Enjoy when you’re ready
