I liked this show but I found it lacking in energy at times and the actors did well overall but I don't think they picked the absolute best actors. In the anime series, all the characters, except Zoro, are over-the-top personalities. The acting was more true-to-life which is not what most Anime is. Everyone had a fairly standard every-day enthusiasm. Lufy Is typically much more exitable, Nami is way more angry, Sanji is love-drunk and Usop is far more cowardly. The most superficial complaint I have is that Lufy has a strange accent. He pronounces a very hard S which is not normally heard in American English or in the dubbed series with American English accents. It just bugs me because no one else has that accent, including Lufy's grandfather. It ruins the feeling of them being related. It's too obvious that the actors are from different countries.

The show has a humorous concept but the jokes are very poorly delivered. It's interesting and peculiar but not exactly funny. I would say it's watchable but if you don't watch it, you're not missing anything.

It wasn't too horrible but it was pretty disappointing. The series was so amazing but the movie took a lot of shortcuts. No spoilers but they made things happen conveniently whereas in the series, there were so many twists and turns in the plot. It would have been better to make another season of the show so things could happen gradually, in a believable manner.

This is a cute teen rom-com. It reminds me of high school. I'm a fan of Not Another Teen Movie, that makes fun of American teen movies and TV shows. The comedy is Anime style, not the overplayed American style that we all started hating when we graduated high school.
