Clearly created by and influenced by women, this effort at a drama becomes a soap opera quite quickly, and is padded out to six episodes, which makes it absurdly long. Three episodes at most would have sufficed. Decent story (if shortened) and decent performances, but the lead character is off the scale for being irritating. Her character is really overdone, and the conclusion of the series is perfectly ludicrous. Only the views of Wellington make up for the exaggerated 'touchy-feely' of this production.

Well acted and directed, but absurdly long. Should have been three or four episodes, not seven. Worth watching if you can spare the time!

A good film and worth watching, but the CGI is rather overdone. It begins to take over, and less would be welcome. Great cast and a clever story incorporating real events. I suppose the worry is that the younger generation (if ever they sit through a full-length film) takes everything as historic fact.

Terrific lead actors, and a good supporting cast, but ultimately an unsatisfactory viewing experience. More like a stage-play, the film became repetitive and boring. Maybe the idea was to build the suspense that way, but I'm afraid it didn't work for me.

Difficult to know how to score this film; I enjoyed the first half and admired the performances and direction, but I'm afraid the second half, as Jay descends into madness, was a trial to watch. Perhaps it's not a genre for me; certainly I'd avoid a similar movie if I expected more of the same.

Abysmal; amateurishly produced and hopeless performances from most of the cast, with the exception of Shaw, Stevenson, and Dobson, who add a touch of class. Many of the actors really should be in a different job, and the dialogue is staccato and garbled. The police officers are unconvincing (particularly Ms Mackie), their procedures and interviews are unrealistic, and the main thrust of the series seems to be sexuality. Because of the series-makers obsession with the main character's homosexuality perhaps its genre should be re-titled; as a police drama it fails miserably? We binge watched the four episodes, mainly because (as you do) after one we felt compelled to see the conclusion, however badly the story was told. We now regret watching it at all, and I advise you not to bother.

Good story, well told and nicely paced. First class performances, not a single weak link, as so often. My only criticism is the depiction of police protocols and routine; these things would be much stricter I'm sure. But it doesn't detract from a thoroughly absorbing watch.

Fabulous scenery and some good performances. But on the debit side the gunfight is ludicrous and the dialogue so slurred and muffled I could barely hear a word. Barely worth having the sound switched on. So good and bad; recommended watching for the sheer vastness of the landscape, and the sensitive insight into the community.

A great film by a great director. You know David Lean will give you fabulous cinema, superb performances, and sensitivity. Well paced and a masterpiece. Such a change from mumbled dialogue (as so often in modern films), car chases, and gunfights!
