I invited my sisters to watch Honey Boy with me and we came out of the theater speechless. We have seen Shia LaBeouf since Even Stevens and have followed his film career. I couldn't be more excited to watch a movie based on his story and written by him. Skills!
The cast performance left me breathless at times. There were moments that made me feel so uncomfortable, scared, and empathetic. Honey Boy is one of the best movies I have seen this year, thus far!
I know everyone is amazed by Shia and Noah Jupe's performances but I cannot leave this review without mentioning Lucas Hedges (playing the older Otis). There were moments were his voice, mannerisms, and attitude as older Otis, sounded exactly who the character is based on. Incredible!
Please go watch the movie to support the arts and go with an open mind and heart. (Some tissues too!)
