⭐ Mandala Murders - A Gripping Thriller with Some Casting Misfires
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
"Mandala Murders" is a mind-blowing and edge-of-the-seat crime thriller that keeps you hooked with its dark atmosphere, layered mystery, and powerful storytelling. The symbolic references, psychological depth, and intense plot twists make it one of the most captivating Indian series in the genre lately.
🔍 Highlights:
The story is brilliantly crafted - complex, unpredictable, and emotionally gripping.
Surbhi Chawla once again delivers a phenomenal performance.
However, there are a few weak spots that affected the overall impact:
🚫 Vaani Kapoor’s performance as a CIB officer feels completely miscast. Her lack of expression, flat dialogue delivery, and unconvincing body language don't align with the intensity her role demands. Additionally, her dressing style is far from realistic for a CIB investigator - it looks more fashion-show-ready than fieldwork-appropriate. A stronger, more versatile actress might have elevated the character better.
😕 Vikram Singh’s character (the cop) deserved far more screen time. His presence is intriguing, and his backstory had strong potential, but sadly he’s underutilized. Hopefully, future seasons bring him to the front - he could have added much-needed emotional and investigative balance.
💔 And what about Pramod Phantom’s death? That moment raises more questions than it answers. While it adds shock value, the emotional impact was downplayed - possibly to make room for plot twists, but it feels rushed and unresolved. There no need of his death.
