I'm a cynic. I had a "Christian awakening" a few years back, I was suckered in by the people and the sense of family or belonging it gave me. Let's say I no longer attend church and I no longer hold a few of those beliefs. However, this book, this book was the one good thing about it all. This book made me feel connected to the universe. Not god, not even the spiritual things we can't always explain. But this book reached it's warm and tender fingers into my heart and soul. It pulled at my chords and it didn't lie, it didn't shame. I often think about the shack when I make decisions in life. I think about the lessons I was taught whilst reading, the emotional connection I had with every word on the pages. The warmth I felt, the pain I shared, the grief I processed in reading every syllable.
You don't have to be a believer, or a Christian. You don't have to be of faith or someone who uses the phrase 'astral plane'. But no matter who you are, this book will teach you something, it will open your soul and expose it to growth.
Do yourself a favour and read this book. ❤️
