Everyone was excited to see this show blow the movie out of the water...but after watching the first season, I think I prefer the movie. While the show tried to better adapt the books, under the perceived care of Rick Riordan himself, the first season fell short of all expectations. Outside of the final episode and scenes here and there, it just want very good. Maybe with high prospects of a second season they'll fix a lot of season one's shortfalls...but I have to lower my expectations now which is really depressing. The show needs to replicate what Parks and Rec did on its second season, turn a terrible pilot season into a contender in its genre and a fan favorite series.
