I hope he's happy, but this show should not have been made. It is so incredibly toxic to watch this "beautiful" white, cis man talk about his struggles and how hard it was for him to come to grips with his sexuality. Colton has the privledge in life of being able to present as straight. Most of us don't have that privilege and are FORCED to confront our sexuality way before we are ready. Not to mention being bullied or thrown out of the house for it.
When he started talking about the one gay kid in his high school and that the football team would use his name as a sub in for an insult, I wanted to throw up...and the fact that he used that as a "poor me, because they treated him like that, it made me want to stay in the closet"...it's just so tone deaf..YOU were on the firing side of that hate, Colton.
The reality is, his parents, brother, and friends accepted him and now that he's out of the closet, he is going to have NO problem getting a partner because of how he looks. Meanwhile a lot of us will never be accepted by our family, and will continue to be marginalized in our own community because we are too effeminate, or too fat, or not white.
Again, I hope he lives a happy life, I just think this show was damaging to watch, and should absolutley not have been made.
