11/22/63 was my first every Stephen King novel and i can't remember reading a better fiction than this !It is an absolute masterpiece .Don't hold back and start reading it right now!!
The story explores the assasination of JFK and the year's leading up to it.Jake ,a high school teacher embarks on a journey to the 'Past' to rewrite history( and no he is an english teacher!).
We are painted with nostalgic past of 60's USA and it ceases to amaze me how well that has been done it considering i was born in the 21st century!!
It explores the contrast in life(Derry and Jodie),past wanting to repeat itself(harmony!!,loads of them) and most importantly the simplicity that was part of our lives some 60 years ago!
Jake(george) and Sadie parts in Jodie were my favourite and i wouldnt have minded another 300 pages of it!!The characters were written beautifully and it made me empathize with them throughout their roller coaster ride .
But the most memorable scene has to be lindy hopping of George with Sadie. It plays out in my mind as if i was there on that fine night in Jodie,TX!
The ending was heart breaking but i am glad it has ended that way.
