I absolutely loved this movie. I am a fan of the games and it was a brilliant display of how to adapt a game into a movie. I’ve heard people saying that they have taken scenes like the plane scene from uncharted 3 and it doesn’t fit, but this film isn’t and was never trying to be a shot for shot remake of the first game and I think it’s better because of that fact. Tom was an excellent Nathan Drake being nice and charming and also whipping out the sas and comedy when needed. I thought Mark Wahlberg as Sully was a fun character, not similar to the game version of Sully at all, but Wahlberg’s version was a more fun version of the character which made the character better for the big screen. I have also heard the idea that it is just a wannabe Indiana Jones, but I don’t believe this is the case. This movie was a brilliant example to display to people who didn’t understand what Uncharted was and easily displayed the entire franchise to the masses. The movie, and games, take elements of movies such as Indiana Jones however I believe the movie has plenty different and doesn’t have much in common with Indiana Jones other than the fact that the characters are looking for a historical artefact and/or treasure.
Overall, if you are looking for a shot for shot remake of the games then this isn’t what you will get from the movie (just play the games) but if you want a fun action-adventure movie then this movie is a great option. I highly recommend watching this movie whether you are a fan of the games or not.
