I liked this anime. The action is stellar and some of the characters are really cool. My favorites being Bemular and Moroboshi. However, the show isn’t without its flaws. For starters, the main protagonist is you’re stereotypical anime high school student with superpowers. He’s not a bad protagonist but he’s also nothing special either. To put it simply, he’s functional. But the worst character in the show has to be the love interest. She is so annoying and I don’t like her. She’s only there because she appears to be a huge Ultraman fan but then it turns out that Ultraman got her mom killed so she hates him all of a sudden (technically, she hated him before she became a fan, but still, this plot twist comes out of nowhere) and the she likes him again because he saved all her fans from Adad (who is voiced by Steve Blum so bonus points there). She’s honestly just eye candy and I don’t like it. She’s also a pop star but it’s honestly just forgettable unless they do something to mention it. But, I still do like this anime. When Ultraman is fighting an alien it’s awesome. The fight choreography is so damn good and seeing all attacks Ultraman uses, like the specium ray, is so cool. I hope in the future he gets the power to grow insize because that would be awesome. I also really like Ultraman’s design. At first, I wasn’t a big fan of the Iron Man style suit they went for, but it grew on me. I can’t wait to see more from this anime and see Ultraman become the savior of the universe

This anime is boring. Plain and simple. Godzilla doesn’t actually do anything until half way through the season. When Godzilla does do things, it’s great, even if the Godzilla design isn’t the best. He just looks so weird. If they made him a bit taller with a thinner body and a smaller head, then this complaint would be nullified. I also didn’t like what they did to Jet Jaguar. His design looks awkward and his voice is really, REALLY annoying. But the worst part about this anime is all the scenes with the human characters. If you thought King of the Monsters focused too much on the humans, then you DEFINITELY don’t want to watch this because they are in every single episode and take up like 90% of the screen time. And I would forgive this if they weren’t SO DAMN BORING! Except for Goro Otaki, he was by far the best character in this show. Overall, if you want to watch a Godzilla anime, you may have to keep looking.
