My excitement at finding a new movie version of the Jane Austen novel quickly turned to crushing disappointment as I watched a performance completely devoid of soul and emotion. The chemistry between the 2 lead characters was non existent, which, in a movie whose sole focus is unrequited love and longing , just killed it for me. I had to fast forward to get through the entire thing, ever hopeful for some small moment of stirring emotion . Alas, none came. Hugely disappointing.
