I didn't catch this film at the movies, only on Netflix. It's been one of the joys of lockdown for me. I hadn't read any reviews before I watched it, so the twist at the end was indeed an unexpected surprise. I loved it so much , I have watched it at least 3 times already as well as rewatching a few scenes as well.
I thought the story was beautifully written (thanks Emna T & Greg W) & the acting superb, by all the cast, but particularly the lead characters.
And I love Christmas, & singing, & London, so what's not to love? This will be added to my Christmas watchlist from now on.
The soundtrack reminded me of my teenage years in the 1980s when I was a Wham tragic, so that was fun too. Loved the cameo by Andrew Ridgely at the end too.
No idea why the official movie critics hate it,. I intend to 'look up' more often now & make the most of each day.
