It's not often that you get to see Johnny Depp play a straight character (without the crazy wigs, makeup, etc). I had not even heard of this movie until I researched his production company so I had to go searching and it actually just started playing on Hulu...like just now. This is a moving, heartfelt look at a real life person that thinks he's done and seen his best work and now its behind him until he is contacted by a woman asking for his help in bringing light to a deeply disturbing, ongoing, problem in Japan. Johnny's performance is probably one of his best. The movie touches on very real human tragedy that is hidden from the world. If you're a TRUE Johnny Depp fan then this movie is a must see. It will touch your heart and it will prove that JD is much more than a quirky, goodlooking, off the cuff actor. His talent shines!

I find it hypocritical that liberal Hollywood has made a film, supposedly a satire, that shows the complete and utter incompetence of the White House. The movie focuses on a time of an impending humanitarian disaster and gives a truly accurate account of how the president is more worried about upcoming primaries and her appearance than saving lives. Her "team" lead by a fictitious tech company billionaire is more concerned about profits than people. i.e. Zuckerberg and Bezos. Hollywood may say publicly that they support the Biden administration but I think this so called satire screams a different narrative.

Do yourself a favor and rewatch the first Matrix before you watch Resurrections. Only then will you get it. This new Matrix is a total mind blower! Some faces have changed and new characters are introduced but pay close attention to details like reflections in a mirror, the starlings flying overhead, the window washer scene, the black cat and Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit...just to name a few. Keanu Reeves still has what it takes as Neo. I've watched it 3 times already and each time I notice something new. If you were ever a Matrix fan then Resurrections is a must see!
