I never post reviews but this book made me MAD. Yes the author is talented and it is a beautifully written book. The characters are incredibly nuanced but it normalises PEDOPHILIA!!!!! The man in the book states that he fell in love with the girl when he first saw her. SHE WAS 8 AND HE WAS 24. It's absolutely disgusting. I thought towards the end they would try and delve into the trauma and pain he caused her but he learned nothing and the ending normalises the whole situation that occurred. All the people in the book that understandably know that the situation is wrong are painted in a bad light until they change their opinion and accept the relationship (The judge & the aunt). Honestly who the f is giving this book four/five stars??? Disgusting
