This movie was absolutely beautiful, a bit slow but not in poor taste for the tone of the film. The movie conveys, and quite well I might add, how unsure things are and how we can waste so much time waiting for something to jump out and just work instead of making it happen for ourselves. That in the end we may just lose the opportunity all together. The main Character, Dexter, while on the surface seemed shallow and self absorbed definitely seemed to display more than that when you look into the context. He's a young college graduate in the beginning wanting to have fun and not just buckle down for the rest of his life. His behavior in that way is completely understandable. Later on he's going through a hard time with his mother having cancer and being seen as a laughing stock on TV. His behavior once again being completely understandable, its then he spirals out of control and poor Em has to break her toes to him. It's then he realizes he needs to change and does. The characters are incredibly 3 dimensional and real. It tells a story that may not have had the most fairy tail of endings, but was still a good one.
