I have enjoyed the various series Shetland but I think the two female detectives have turned into caricatures of female deceives. This was shown when they were interviewing the young lad about a burglary and possible murder. The male actor was superb but the two female actors failed to impress. Too patronising and smug as well as being untidy. Hopefully they will be better directed in later episodes.

Not surprising about the nature of this programme as Sally Wainright's writing has always had an element of misandry despite her being married to a man and has two sons. I admit I can identify with some of the characteristics of the men but it is hardly subtle. The problem for women as a group is it offers consolation to women who are or have been controlled by men, rather than women being individuals in their own right. Perhaps Sally Waineright should write a drama about men and how they cope with the crimes and attitudes of women

The BBC has managed to gather together a collection of some of the most awful celebrities on television. Smug Fry, false Balding not surprising but what on earth is David Olusoga doing on this programme? This programme is so repulsive and fake that it makes great car crash TV.

Not very good. Unrealistic and poor acting. Rather silly plot lines. It is interesting to compare the viewers reviews with the tv critics reviews. Of course Lucy Mangan will overpraise anything with female leads but none of us are fooled.

Very boring. Obviously the story is female oriented and that is why the BBC bought it. Too many characters that we soon lose initerest on them. Acting is okay but too much "look at me." Vety disappointing.

Well all very interesting and intriguing but I get tired of detectives with "complicated lives". It is the crime we want solved. There is also the usual casting issues. We have mother in law as opposed to the orginal father in law and of course a bratty teenage daughter who I expect will be more mature than her father. We see a middle aged white man about to mansplain a black female journalist. How about some womansplaining, for a change - it does happen. I will probably stick with it as it is intriguing.

Usual cliche ridden police drama. The cast do their best but the script and direction let's them down.

Well it was all acted and directed well but some of it seems forced. Of course Viridee's boss is a white woman but then if it had been a white man he would have been a racist. Clearly white men in this series will be the baddies as we have seen on the first episode . While saying that there is enough to interest me and I will watch it again. The problem is that it is likely to enforce some people's prejudices on all sides. It is noteworthy that the tv ratings is only 1.6m. ITV's Unforgotten which has an ethnic minority detective had higher ratings.

Okay but not as funny as Motherland. All a bit forced. I don't really care for Joanna Lumley. I often find her a bit creepy but she can be funny at times. May watch it again if I have nothing else to watch but it does not deserve the over the top praise from TV critics.
