The movie is all practical effects, which I adore & does a great job depicting the atrocities enacted against the prisoners of war in Japan during WWII. Such a good job in fact that I may only be able to watch this film once due to the fact that the experiments were based on true events...mind scorchingly, deplorable, repugnant true events. Ugh.
