It was alright. Super damn short like always. The good tone of horror established in Resi7 is pretty much completely dead. There's a ten minute segment in a Puppet House that's pretty good & scary, but that's about it in terms of memorable parts of the game. Big Booba Lady is pretty much just the tutorial zone, so the hype for her was pointless. Game works fine functionally, & has a pretty fun crafting/weapon upgrading/cooking system with the merchant character. Nothing innovative, but fun enough. Villains are extremely forgettable, and Boss fights weren't fun. Story was terrible & felt like they just wanted to set more breadcrumbs for the overall Resi plot, much like 7 in that regard, but at least 7's overall plot & mystery around it was actually pretty good. Consider 7 to be like Resi 4, where this is more like Resi 5. Functional, sometimes satisfying, but overall an extremely hollow entry in the series.
